Let’s just say my design brain is still buzzing from High Point Market this spring. Every showroom, every collection – it all felt like a love letter to texture, craftsmanship, and playfully refined style. There’s something about walking through those halls, surrounded by the newest furnishings and design ideas, that never fails to ignite fresh inspiration for my clients and upcoming projects.
What were the stand out trends I saw and loved?
1. Texture, Texture, Texture
From fluted details and woven materials to carved woods and nubby fabrics, everything begged to be touched. Texture was the star of the show this year – bringing dimension, depth, and soul to every piece. Leather even found its moment as accents in furniture. I can already see this influencing future client projects, especially in cozy gathering spaces where tactile comfort takes the lead.

2. Soft, Warm Color Palettes
Goodbye cool greys and hello creamy whites, dusty blushes, sage greens, and buttery neutrals. So many collections seemed to lean into warmth and serenity, creating rooms that feel lived-in yet elevated. For those craving calm, welcoming spaces – this palette delivers that in the most beautiful way.

3. Curves, Scallops, and Playful Shapes
From scalloped chair backs to wavy edges and rounded silhouettes, furniture is softening in the best way. There’s something so inviting about curved forms – they add movement and make a room feel effortless. I’m already brainstorming a few curved sofa and scalloped detail moments for upcoming installs.

4. Bold, Whimsical Prints
Designers are having fun again! I spotted traditional florals, modern botanicals, and even a few animal prints that blend nostalgia with a fresh twist. It’s bold but not overwhelming – the perfect way to infuse personality into a project while keeping it timeless.

5. Woven & Natural Materials Everywhere
Rattan, rope, seagrass, and cane made a strong showing, often paired with warm wood tones. The craftsmanship and hand-woven textures added so much soul to even the sleekest designs. I love how these pieces instantly make a room feel more grounded and approachable.

6. Traditional with a Modern Spin
Classic silhouettes are being refreshed with updated fabrics, finishes, and proportions. It’s that perfect “new traditional” look – layered, comfortable, but far from stuffy. This is one trend I’m especially excited to bring into projects for clients who love timeless design with a little edge.

There’s nothing quite like High Point. Beyond the beautiful showrooms, it’s the energy and creativity that runs through every hallway. Market is kind of like my reset button, a reminder of why I love what I do. I leave with my camera roll full, my mind racing with ideas, and my design heart completely inspired.
I can’t wait to start weaving these trends into my upcoming projects and watching them come to life in my clients’ homes.
Kindly,
Michelle
