Go Local – Bellevue Shops and Stops

Hi All!

Happy Spring! It’s been a wet one, but then that is what helps make the Pacific Northwest so green and beautiful!  The glimpses and days of sun in between the rain bring us all outdoors. I for one and am getting out and about living life and loving local!  The Eastside and Seattle are known for diverse shopping options. From luxury to boutiques and one of a kind shops, it’s a shopper’s delight! I am a firm believer in shopping local and supporting small businesses, so I like to “stay home” as much as I am able to. So here are a few Bellevue local favorites and new places to stop by and check out.

Where do I find my inspiration for that local flair in Bellevue? Here is a list of my Top 4 (narrowing it down to 4 is not an easy task!):

#1 TREE

There’s a new store on the block called Tree, it may have just opened but already I am itching for a shopping spree! Tree is located in the Design Market – 1018 116th Ave NE (between 12th St & 8th St). It is a sustainable furniture and home decor store. This boutique furniture store is filled with locally crafted, eco-friendly (and rather luxurious) home furnishings. From sofas and chairs, natural rugs, to gorgeous organic bedding and fabrics.

“From the seed of an idea, TREE has budded into a one-stop destination for sustainable style, offering naturally beautiful eco-chic furnishings and finishing touches lovingly made “from the heart”.” Read more about their story here

#2 HEDGE AND VINE

“purveyors of fine wine, specialty foods and lovely home goods”

There are  tons of tiny treasures tucked away in corners and thoughtfully displayed on tabletops. Hedge and Vine seems to have it all when it comes to fun finds for the home. From table linens to rugs, beautiful tableware to the most unique gift. All in all, it’s such a fun store to peruse.

#3 HAYSTACK ANTIQUES

This amazing shop of antiques and unique treasures requires a regular stop in.  You never know what you will find. Haystack Antiques plays host to 25 dealers “that have procured incredible finds” and whether you are looking for that perfect something or simply browsing, you are guaranteed to discover something unexpected.

#4  GLASSYBABY

I have featured this colorful shop in a previous post and I just love them (and their philosophy) so much that I have included them on my list! glassybaby is known for their hand made, or hand blown, glass votives and drinkers – each crafted to fit perfectly in the palm of an average hand. 10% of each votive or drinker sold is donated to the glassybaby white light fund … “to help people, animals, and the planet heal.” Purchasing home accessories never felt so good!
