Tile-Ready to go bold with tile?

Going bold can be risky business – especially when you are getting ready to install something permanent – like tile. Going bold can also turn out to be the most stylish decision you’ve ever made (in your home, that is).

Bold tile is a commitment, yes, but when chosen right, it can be a striking addition to your space. Whether it be a kitchen backsplash, bathroom surface or even the floor. Let’s take a step back to the risky business part and determine the easiest ways to go bold without hesitation. Where to begin without ending in regret? Here are a few tips to help you take the next step:

Go bold with the pattern in a monochromatic color palette. This will give you the show stopping look with a sense of calm.

Go with a more traditional shape and style in a vibrant color, or a fun design.

The bathroom is a great place to have fun with tile – we created a feature wall with this marble-herringbone pattern tile in our Belvedere project.

Pick a unique tile pattern, like the basketweave, and take it up a notch with a rich color. We are in love with this glazed ceramic tile from Tile Bar – not to mention that beautiful shade of blue.

Muted tones are a great choice if you want to take it down a notch, without skimping on the bold. Kelly Wearstler knows a thing or two about making a statement.

Do you have small space that needs a lot of punch? A small tile with a bold color is a great way to get it done.

Going bold doesn’t always mean going bright, a striking pattern in a neutral shade will make add interest to space, and a splash of metallic or mirrored tile will add some glamour.

Are you ready to go bold!?
