It’s color crush time! This months’ crush is Sherwin-Williams’ 2020 Color of the Year – Naval. Yes, you read that correctly… 2020! What a bold start to a new decade with this deep blue hue, a navy like you’ve never seen before. This color is said to be all about embracing a fresh start with color –
“2020 is an empowering year of change that focuses on bringing your best self into the new decade. The next 10 years pave the way for wellness of the mind, body and soul – a clean palette for self-nurturance.”
As a designer who is extremely fond of color and a woman who believes in the importance of self-care, I am all about the inspiration behind this beautiful color. In the words Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams:
“The use of color in interior design is changing, it’s not just about what a space looks like anymore, but how it makes you feel. People want to feel grounded and inspired to pursue their mental, physical and emotional well-being. Naval is reminiscent of the night sky, which people have looked to for centuries for guidance, as a muse and as a reminder to live more mindfully.”
