2020 Trends for Summer Living

2020 Trends for Summer Living

2020 has been quite a trying time for us all and I couldn’t image a better time to embrace transformation. Summer is the perfect season to freshen up you living space – whether it be complete makeover or a few accents here and there. If you are in the market for some trends to  incorporate into your home, here are my favorite 5 from the exciting list of what’s “hot” this year.

Natural Fibers-

Thanks to the demand for sustainable living – environmentally friendly materials are taking over. Natural materials, such as wicker, rattan and jute can be found in lighting, rugs, stools and more. This element allows light to filter through it, giving off a light and airy vibe. Perfect for Summer!

Plants-

There’s nothing better than freshening up a space with natural greenery. For a more organic look, faux plants are out and live plants are in. Believe it or not, fiddle leaf fig trees are taking the back burner to give way to other plants, like olive trees.

Navy Blue-

There are a few colors making a statement in 2020 – blush pinks, deep greens and pastels, but one of my favorites is Pantone’s 2020 Color of the Year – Classic Blue. It has gone beyond the walls and found its way in fabric, rugs, and onto furniture. It’s a bold color that gives off a fresh and fun feel.

Florals and botanicals-

…out of the vases and onto the walls. Wallpaper is in and the florals are the leading print. Wallpaper adds texture, contrast and color to a room, not to mention a touch of personality.

Performance Fabrics-

Durability in design is one of my staples, so performance fabrics is a trend  that never goes out of style for me. Summer is the season for outdoor fun, so easy-to-clean and durable are a must with all that extra traffic and mess that come along with that fun. Performance fabrics are great for the outdoors, but they can also be used luxurious living spaces – like formal dining rooms. Yes, there is such a thing as luxury performance fabrics!
