Project Reveal: Woodinville English Charm

Project Reveal: Woodinville English Charm

We are so excited to share the full reveal of our latest project in Woodinville, WA.

Some homes hold decades of memories, and this one was no exception. Our clients had loved this home for many years, raising their family here, gathering for holidays, and now welcoming grandchildren and a beloved dog into the next chapter of life. While the home carried so much sentimental value, the interiors no longer reflected the way they wanted to live today. They envisioned a home that felt elevated and luxurious, yet still warm, approachable, and deeply livable for everyday life.

Our goal was to honor the character of the home while thoughtfully modernizing it with cleaner lines, custom details, and functional spaces designed to support family gatherings, entertaining, and quiet daily routines alike.

Natural Materials With Lasting Beauty

Throughout the renovation, we leaned into a palette of natural and neutral materials to create a look that feels grounded, timeless, and effortlessly refined. Warm wood tones, layered textures, soft neutrals, and tailored millwork bring a sense of calm sophistication to every room without ever feeling too formal or untouchable. This is a home meant to be admired, but more importantly, truly lived in.

A Welcoming And Elevated Entry

The entry transformation helped set the tone for the entire home. Through thoughtful paint selections, lighter flooring, and warm wood finishes on the stair rail, the space now feels brighter, larger, and far more inviting than before.

Updating the stairway details brought a fresh architectural presence to the home while maintaining a timeless feel that complements the original character of the architecture. The lighter finishes reflect natural light beautifully and create a sense of openness immediately upon entering the home.

Thoughtful Functionality Behind Every Detail

Functionality played just as important a role as beauty in this renovation. One challenge we faced was creating a kitchen that felt seamless and uncluttered while still offering the high performance storage and conveniences our clients wanted.

Through thoughtful planning and custom cabinetry, we incorporated hidden appliances, integrated storage solutions, and additional functional cabinetry to improve organization throughout the kitchen. Every detail was carefully considered to maximize storage while maintaining a clean, cohesive appearance.

One of the standout design elements throughout the home is the use of natural quartzite. We carried the stone into countertops, backsplashes, and apron front sinks to create continuity and a sense of understated luxury. The soft veining and organic movement of the quartzite added depth and warmth while offering the durability our clients needed for a busy household filled with grandchildren, everyday cooking, and a four legged family member always nearby.

A concealed coffee station became one of our favorite custom touches, giving our clients an easy morning routine while keeping countertops visually calm and organized. Hidden storage solutions allow everyday appliances and kitchen essentials to remain accessible without visually interrupting the beauty of the space.

Reimagining The Dining Room

The dining room transformation became one of the most impactful changes in the home. Previously, the space felt darker and more closed in, lacking the warmth and openness our clients wanted for entertaining family and friends. By introducing lighter finishes, reflective surfaces, and a softer palette, the room immediately began to feel brighter, more sophisticated, and connected to the rest of the home.

A modern statement chandelier was selected to bring personality and flair while still feeling timeless and elegant. The warm brass tones and sculptural glass globes create a beautiful focal point without overwhelming the room. Durable leather dining chairs add richness and texture while offering practicality for grandchildren and everyday use.

The round dining table was another intentional design decision that completely changed how the room functions. Its shape improved traffic flow throughout the space while encouraging more intimate dining and conversation, making gatherings feel comfortable, connected, and welcoming.

Opening Up The Living Spaces

One of the biggest overall improvements throughout the home was creating brighter, more open living spaces that embraced natural light. The living room and great room previously felt heavier and more visually closed in. Through lighter finishes, soft neutral tones, and carefully layered textures, we transformed these spaces into calm, inviting environments designed for both entertaining and everyday family life.

High performance fabrics were used throughout the seating to ensure durability without sacrificing comfort or style. The lighter upholstery reflects natural light beautifully while remaining practical for grandchildren, pets, and daily use.

To add contrast and architectural depth, we incorporated black fireplace surrounds paired with warm natural wood finishes. The combination creates a striking focal point that feels modern yet timeless. Ceiling beams and custom millwork details further elevate the spaces, adding warmth, dimension, and a tailored custom feel throughout the home.

A Small Powder Bath With Big Impact

The powder bath may have been one of the smaller spaces in the home, but it became one of the most charming transformations. Working within a limited footprint required careful planning and thoughtful design solutions to maximize both function and beauty.

A custom vanity with a perfectly scaled small sink allowed us to make the most of the space without compromising functionality. Beautiful finishes, warm tones, and tailored details helped the room feel elevated and cohesive with the overall design of the home while still serving the practical needs of everyday life and entertaining guests.

A Home Ready For The Next Chapter

One of the most rewarding parts of this project was helping our clients fall in love with their home all over again. By reimagining the spaces with thoughtful functionality, timeless materials, and modern custom details, we were able to create a home that supports the way they live today while honoring the memories already built within its walls.

This renovation is a reflection of what we believe luxury design should be: beautiful, enduring, highly functional, and deeply personal. A home designed not just for photographs, but for everyday moments and years of living ahead. And, of course, none of it would have been possible without our talented team we feel so honored to collaborate with – our contractor, Trucraft Northwest, and cabinet designer, Shannon with Design Love Seattle. Our projects always run smoother when we have creative partners we can trust to execute a beautiful design.
