It’s color crush time! This months’ crush is Sherwin-Williams’ 2020 Color of the Year – Naval. Yes, you read that correctly… 2020! What a bold start to a new decade with this deep blue hue, a navy like you’ve never seen before. This color is said to be all about embracing a fresh start with color –
We all know about the Pantone Color of the Year, but did you know about the other color’s of the year? Benjamin Moore announced theirs earlier this year and it is right up my alley!
Calm, composed and effortlessly sophisticated, Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2019, Metropolitan AF-690, exudes glamour, beauty and balance.
“Metropolitan AF-690 emanates nuance, harmony and extravagant ease. Always adaptable, it softens to matte or shimmers with sheen. It’s neutral. It’s understated. It just is. This is color, off-duty.”
—Ellen O’Neill, Benjamin Moore & Co.
The 4th of July is right around the corner and I thought I’d give it a bright and colorful welcome. We’re going to do something a little different this week… we are going to crush on more than one color. We’re going all in on the Red, White and Blue! Nothing speaks patriotic like that trio of colors.
Feeling all kinds of Blush for this months’ Color Crush post. There is something so versatile about this shade of pink – it can freshen up a space for Spring or warm up a room in the wintertime. Pair it with creams and fair grays for a soft and feminine look, or let it be the shade to tone down bold reds and moody blues. And yes, blush can be sparingly paired with red! My color story is showing this pretty shade in all forms – from pretty pillows to durable fabrics (kid friendly-pet friendly always on my mind) and bold chairs to sweet votives. Get ready to blush!
And welcome to the Color Crush Series! I’ll be sharing a curation of current home decor trends, as well as my very own current loves for the home. And who knows, maybe you’ll find that perfect shade of blue you’ve been looking for, or your mad search for that blush chair will come to an end? I’m beginning the month with Benjamin Moore’s 2019 Color of the Year – Metropolitan AF-690. This neutral shade is “calm, composed and effortlessly sophisticated” and it “exudes glamour, beauty and balance.” Love it already!

In my recent home update project I took the plunge and went with a white color for my walls. Yes white! I know, call me brave or call me not so smart….I was a little hesitant myself. But thanks to great advances in interior paint products I found a durable paint to use. How durable or what exactly does durable mean? Read More

I don’t know about you, but I am over the top excited for spring this year. Color of Spring is everywhere!! Living in the Pacific Northwest I have endured the rainy winter months with great tolerance (I tried anyway). I have a boost of energy, love being outdoors, and can’t get enough of the spring color surrounding me. Fashion, home decor, nature, you name it!! Color is everywhere and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
